Why Buy From a Member?
When you buy from a member of the Vancouver Island Floor Covering Association you are working with a company that has made a public commitment to the industry and to its customers. Membership demonstrates an intention to be there in the future for information, additional purchases or follow-up services. It contains a requirement that each member conform to the code of ethics (below), and an assurance that should the Inspection Service of the Association be required the member will abide by the findings of the inspectors.
VIFCA members offer their customers the benefits of a consumer credit card. This card offers no payment / no interest events and no annual fees. It will entitle the holder to exclusive specials and offers as well as 20 minute credit responses, generous payment terms and advance notice of store promotions. The CitiFinancial Consumer Financial Program is an outstanding customer service offered by members of the Vancouver Island Floor Covering Association.
If you should encounter a problem, the Vancouver Island Floor Covering Association offers unbiased, third-party inspections of carpet, resilient, vinyl, hardwood and laminate flooring products and installations. A member of the Greviance Committee will examine the flooring in question to determine if the product is performing as it should and if the installation meets the industry standard. They will forward their findings to the association and a written report will be generated from the VIFCA office.
Architects, Builders, General Contractors and Property Managers can use the technical resources of the Vancouver Island Floor Covering Association. They include:
- The VIFCA Inspection Service (for members and consumers who purchased from a member)
- The National Floor Covering Association Specification Manual
- A database of technical support throughout North America
Code of Ethics
The owners, managers and employees of all VIFCA member companies believe:
- in the profession in which we are engaged and to continually strive to maintain the highest professional standards;
- in fair business practices, honesty and integrity, never resorting to unfair trade practices that might reflect not only on our organization, but on the entire industry;
- in expressing our appreciation of patronage by avoiding misrepresentation of products and services, false promises or any statements that might lead to misconceptions on the part of the consumer;
- in participating in educational seminars and to keep abreast of new industry developments and technology;
- in the aims and objectives of the Vancouver Island Floor Covering Association and its continuing efforts toward advancement of the Floor Covering Industry.
All VIFCA members have subscribed to this code of ethics and agreed to conduct their business affairs accordingly.
